What can a travel advisor offer that an Online Travel Agency cannot? While Online Travel Agencies (OTA’s) such as Expedia, Kayak, Travelocity etc. can offer bulk deals, they are not able to access consolidated rates travel advisors can with hotels, airlines and other vendors. We have access to different systems as registered agents, to offer clients the best prices the general public cannot access on their own. We also offer security. You may be out of luck with needing to cancel when booking through an OTA, where we can help ensure a credit or refund. We also offer trip assistance. Now more than ever with COVID-19 impacting travel and other ongoing worldwide events, we assist with being aware of the ever changing country-based COVID-19 requirements and ensure the impact of delays/cancellations are as minimal as possible. Need assistance and you booked through an OTA? You’ll be forced to sit in a call cue with long wait times to obtain help. As travel advisors, we are available to assist you in handling any issue that may occur pre, during and post travel.
